This session will take a closer look at contemporary YA literature that has could have educational merit for secondary standards and objectives. Specific books published in the last 3 years will be discussed and the process of requesting they be added to the district reading list will be reviewed. This can also encourage students to read outside of the required literature for class, and remind them that there are so many amazing stories being told now for them to enjoy.
