About me
Hi! I'm Allie and I'm a Consulting Teacher with the Ed Tech Department. Some of you may have cursed my name while attempting to finish some of our FLEX PD (totally understandable). This was my 9th year in Baldwin County and my 14th in education. I previously worked as a Teacher Consultant for deaf/hard-of-hearing students in Battle Creek, MI. I got both my BA and MA from Michigan State University in Deaf Education and Education Technology. This past year, I earned my graduate certificate in Instructional Media as well as my National Board Certification in Library Media. I'm glad to be done with both of these programs so I can devote time to my true passion: cuddling with my dogs on the couch and reading.
Here, I work as a Technology Coach, an eMINTS facilitator/mentor, and a STEAM advocate. I love talking about eMINTS, STEAM, and technology integration to the point of annoyance, I'm sure. My favorite programs are Pear Deck, Google Classroom (all the Google tools, really), BrainPop, Code.org, BreakoutEDU, and Seesaw.
When not working, I enjoy playing Dungeons and Dragons with my husband and friends, I also enjoy swimming. I also play and officiate flat-track roller derby. I also try to get home to Michigan whenever I can to visit family and friends (and to cool off a bit...it's really hot here, you guys!).
