About me
Hello, my name is Sarah! I am the Early College Director at Coastal Alabama Community College.
I have been working in this position since the 2020-21 school year. Coastal has one of the largest early college / dual enrollment programs in the state of Alabama, but we are the largest college in the Alabama Community College System geographically. We serve nearly 70 high schools in a 10-county area of southwest Alabama.
Before moving to the postsecondary world, I spent 22 years in K-12 as a high school social studies teacher, volleyball and basketball coach, and as an administrator. I was also the Federal Programs Director for an AL district for four years.
I use my K12 experience to ensure our partnering high schools and students are set up for success! Early College staff are always working hard to support our schools, students, and parents in their initial postsecondary journey through dual enrollment.
I look forward to sharing our philosophy and support system with you. I am always looking for ways to improve and expand upon what we do for students, so please don't hesitate to share your ideas!
